The Omen's Damien actor unrecognisable after quitting fame for 'normal job' and avoided jail over ro

THE actor who played Damien in The Omen narrowly avoided jail after a road rage attack.

Harvey Spencer Stephens, who quit fame to work as a property developer, was sentenced for the crime on Friday the 13th.

So what has Harvey been up to since playing the iconic Damien Thorn in The Omen?

Who is Harvey Spencer Stephens?

Harvey Spencer Stephens was born on November 12, 1970.

At just five years old he was chosen to play Damien Thorn in The Omen - launching him to worldwide fame.

He landed the infamous part after punching director Richard Donner in the testicles.

In the film he played the antichrist child who attacked his parents, and killed off other characters by suicide or murder.

But it was a short-lived acting career, with The Omen being his only major film role - despite briefly returned to The Omen in a 2006 DVD special features section to play a tabloid journalist.

The 52-year-old is now a married dad-of-one who had recently been working at his own security firm which went into liquidation in 2016.

He is now working as a property developer.

In a 2007 interview with Stephens, he was quoted saying: "It was good, but I was only five, a lot of it went over my head. It wasn't a big deal. It was good while it lasted.

"I did a film in Paris with David Carradine called In Search of Eden. After that, I was 10 or 11, I went to normal school, left school, went and got a job in the city.

"Acting wasn't something I really had my heart set on."

Why was Harvey Spencer Stephens arrested?

Stephens, 46, was overcome with road rage in August last year when he punched two cyclists on Toys Hill, near Westerham, Kent.

He admitted getting out of his flash Audi RS6 to thump the men — smashing one of their helmets after losing his temper.

Toys Hill is a steep climb popular with cyclists. The summit is 235 metres above sea level.

He pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court on December 8 and was sentenced on Friday 13 for two counts of ABH and one of criminal damage.

He was handed a 12 month prison sentence, suspended for two years.

A source said: “This was a road rage offence in which he brutally assaulted two middle-aged cyclists without provocation.

“They had been out on a Sunday bike ride when he lost his rag and attacked — punching them in the head and damaging one of the cyclists’ helmets, which was worth £120.

He lost his rag and punched them in head.
